SURVEILLANCE & MONITORING
In an effort to gain a better understanding of abiotic and biotic stresses in and around the crop, we have recently begun to combine on the ground sensor systems at scale, with earth observation on cloud based infrastructures to track pest and pathogen resistance. . We are currently looking to expand this work by collaborating with other organisations who have the facilities to extend the work to immediate response to invasive species
SAFER CROP PRODUCTION
With work previously done by a former lab member, we have developed a powerful way of increasing operator safety for knapsack spraying. Combining sensors, internet of things frameworks, and wearable technologies we have produced an operator safety system which phase locks spraying to approved operators and only works once all PSE is being worn
